Privacy Policy

Vancouver Parking Meter Map (“we”, “our”, “the Service”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information, if any, is collected when you use the Service and how it is used.

The Service does not require account registration, sign-in, or the submission of any personal information to use core features.

Usage analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools (such as Vercel Analytics or similar) to collect aggregate, anonymised information about page views, device type, and general geographic region. This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to understand how the Service is used and to improve reliability.

Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records standard HTTP request logs, including your IP address, browser user-agent, and pages visited. These logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging purposes.

No personal data collected. We do not collect your name, email address, location (beyond general region from analytics), payment information, or any other personally identifiable information.

The Service may use essential cookies or local browser storage to remember UI preferences (such as saved map layers or bookmarked locations). No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are set.

City of Vancouver Open Data. Parking data is fetched from the City of Vancouver Open Data Portal. Their privacy policy and terms apply to that dataset.

Map tiles. Interactive map tiles are served by third-party mapping providers. When you load the map, your browser makes requests to those providers and their respective privacy policies apply.

Vercel. The Service is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may process request metadata as part of hosting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.

Aggregate analytics data is used to understand feature usage and improve the Service. Server logs are used to diagnose errors and protect against abuse. We do not sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.

Aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely in anonymised form. Server logs are typically retained for 30 days. No personal data is stored by us.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

The Service contains links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
